Extra history

Extra History Extra History is a YouTube channel I've personally known of since about late elementary school. They are an educational channel with a ton of people with a bunch of varying degrees. You can't forget Zoey, the reappearing black cat that appears in every episode. covering several topics from the past, including ancient history, all the way up to modern history. They usually don't do individual episodes; instead, spanning out their coverage into more series covering a specific period, person, or event. Due to this, I will just cover one series. The humor can vary from more lighthearted seris to very serious and darker coverage of more tragedies in history. The Great Gay King (CW Abuse) It is said that most states have an army, but Prussia has a state for its army. Prussia, the country that would later unify Germany, is located in the northeast of Germany. It was a state well known for its militarism. Prussian troops were known as the most disciplined, well-tr...

Bluejay

BlueJay     My first two history channels covered more average history. It took a turn for the worse with Sam O Nella, and well, I've already invaded Poland at this point, so might as well keep going. So, continuing with my trend of giving you all the sweet joy of knowing historical facts you never asked for or wanted, I bring you Bluejay. Hopefully, he is less likely to put me on a watch list compared to Sam from the last blog. Blue is a very wacky person who inserts himself in the pictures, drawings, and small animations he does with a stock image of a Blue Jay. With his lively, energetic voice, which keeps an ADHD brain like mine quite stimulated and more focused. As for humor, he makes a variety of jokes but always keeps that energetic voice. He also likes putting a character who knows little into the story, giving it a more engaging and funny experience.  Historical Slang     So, since this is an English class, I thought Historical Slang would be per...

Sam O'Nella

Sam O'Nella Academy     Sam is someone with a bit more of a crass and somewhat offensive type of humor but still stays within the guidelines of YouTube. He uses stick figures to give images and faces to the characters or events he covers. he mostly covers odd, weird, or disturbing parts of history, giving some pretty deep detail on some disturbing things while trying to add humor to them. Do some of the things he covers need to be known or remembered in short? No, probably not, but they're here anyway.  Uncontrollable hunger https://youtu.be/nYHDj2sB-rc?si=1G6p5tHb-yXU3jqx        Tarrare was born in 1772 in France. he had a biological disorder causing him to be uncontrollably hungry. By his teens He could eat an entire quarter of a cow in a single day. He only weighed 100 lbs. Appearance-wise Tarrare had a huge, stretched-out mouth with horrible teeth. His stomach would be inflated when full; the rest of the time would be a flap of stretched-out ...

Overly Sarcastic Productions

This channel has a split between the two who talk on it; the two personas are Blue and Red. Blue covers more of the idea of traditional history, red covers literature and mythology; they also cover more modern works. They, as in the name, love to use sarcasm when they talk about history; they will do scenes where they do character comedy or just comment. I love how passionate they are about the history, literature, and mythology they cover. Blue has an obsession with domes and Venice.  The Queen of the Adriatic   https://youtu.be/7cHK4xzAhzE?si=mpPV_WJ6bXuZV6Bj       Venice, by all means, shouldn't have existed as a nation, a city paved in marble, sitting on a lagoon with nothing but piles keeping it afloat. It was a republic, which wasn't a very popular idea in Europe during most of its existence. The city of Venice is over 1300 years old. The Republic of Venice lasted from the 8th to the 19th century in a very lets say, hostile work environ...

History Abridged with Jack Rackem

(So too start off, hey everyone, welcome to my blog. I will be covering history YouTubers. I'll cover their overall content as well as my favorite videos and things you learn from them. There will be one older and one newer video on each post.)  History Abridged with Jack Rackem, a historian known for his comedy and for how he portrays history in a modern comedic light. He loved to cover the funny and stupid sides of history, while he loves history. You can learn some facts about historical figures in history, for example, Teddy Roosevelt.  https://youtu.be/pnFmrgYh1fw?si=jV9wgapc44dkCQ4o In this video, you learn little facts like the fact that he has asthma and that he brought a fist to a gun fight and won. He was a Harvard graduate and became a published historian and ornithologist. He also had crippling asthma, but still joined the rowing and boxing team. He decided to refuse his doctor’s warnings.  Shortly after his daughter was born, his mother died before his...
